Fundamentally, the integrated model is a mathematical description of processes in components of the hydrocarbon production system, including the reservoir, wells and surface facilities. The solution of this problem using mostly standard calculation tools (separately both reservoir model and production system) is low-efficient, since it is impossible to estimate the influence of production system elements to each other during the whole development time. When using an integrated approach, all components are combined into a single computed model "reservoir-well-gathering facilities-processing system". Its application significantly improves the quality of the field management, validate decision-making on the basis of objective assessment of the interference of various elements of recovery and solution of optimization problems.
The main tasks solved with the help of integrated modeling:
- definition of effective operating modes of gathering and processing facilities;
- optimization of well performance parameters;
- design of surface facilities;
- drilling plan generation;
- design of field development.
